Where there are flowers can spiders be far behind?! C’est la vie! Beauty and the Beast go hand in hand it seems in the real world as in our imaginations π Often, the Beast uses Beauty to lure its hapless victim into the trap. And ever so often, Beauty succumbs – oblivious to lurking danger, lost in the joy of a magical moment, susceptible to the Beast’s powerful hunger. Nature and indeed humankind are full of examples π
But this Haiku is not the result of such lofty thoughts π It’s really just about the spider and its web – this one I photographed after an exhausting battle with my focusing skills, at Panhala,Β a hill station in the state of Maharashtra, India which is home to one of several Forts built by Shivaji, King of the Marathas and warrior extraordinaire!Β
So here I am celebrating the eternal tussle between Beauty and the Beast π
Also wanted to let my readers know that I’m traveling until Sunday, so I might not be able to post until then, in which case, will catch up when I get back.Β
Have a good week ahead People π
Interesting musings on beauty and beasty. Sometimes beauty lures in beast too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h8I3cqpgnA
(David Attenborough narrates, so it’s worth watching in my book!)
Your photo was worth all the fussing with focus. It’s lovely π
Happy travels!
Thanks Heather π Am at home in Goa and chilling out as one can only do in Mom’s house and the house where one was a child once π
That clip is amazing and what are the odds that you like David Attenborough??!! Really, if this goes on, I’ll beging to suspect we’ve been separated at birth π I’ve grown up watching him on National Geographic! I love watching wildlife on TV and of curse in the wild π
I can understand if people aren’t into Anne of Green Gables, but I don’t think there isn’t anyone who doesn’t like David Attenborough. He’s my favorite π
(And side note just for fun – in college I majored in biology, with minors in chemistry and psychobiology, so I suspect we’ve got similar backgrounds there as well!)
Mine too! Well I have studied biology and chemistry and then Medicine so yes – you bet we have similar backgrounds π
Thanks for the ping back Shoma π
