This photograph was taken in 2008, from a moving car (No! I was not driving!), en route to Sedona from Vegas on my second trip to the US. It was a superlative sunset and I liked the large water tank (?) that stood alone and isolated in that vast landscape. It was beautiful if a little eerie.
Dusk and twilight I must confess are my favorite times of day!I I suppose I like cusps 🙂 They have a unique magical quality to them – a blending of times, that holds the promise of sweet dreams and leaves boundaries blurred…everything seems possible and probable! And because I am primarily a creature of the night, I love shadows and the dark and their inherent mystery 🙂 How about you? What’s your favorite time of day and why?
If I were actually awake for sunrise, I think that would be my favorite. They feel like such happy hellos. Alas, I am also a night creature, so I am also a lover of dusk and twilight. I especially love summer twilight up here, because it seems to go on and on, like a long goodbye.
I’m sure your sunsets are gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing pictures of them 🙂 I love sunrises too especially coz they’re a great time for bird watching but I hate waking up early 😝 Staying up all night however is not as much of a problem 😉
I love the cusps too Harsha.. saw one recently in Cambodia when the night sky slowly bled to let the sun emerge… it was an awesome sight.
I can imagine Usha 🙂 Where are the pics?? Don’t remember seeing them!
I love this, I wrote a haiku a long long time ago about a sunset…but mine were crayons melting into the clouds as the sun sets (somehow, I can’t find the poem)
Thanks Elisa! Sounds interesting…I hope you find the poem and share both picture and poem 🙂
