Monday again! How regularly they turn up! Oh well…it has been a quiet weekend and although Hubby returned from a week-long absence and entertained Junior for a couple of hours…well that’s just it…it’s a couple of hours out of the 24 and not nearly enough…but hey! I’ll take what I can get. I’m a little out of sorts…can you tell? It’s how I typically react when Hubby gets back from being away…there’s the return to a more intensive routine that bugs me for a while versus the joy of having him home. It takes a few days to get things in balance again. The achievement of that equilibrium is however a delicate process – easily derailed – often by silliness and randomness 😛 You know what I mean…having to make a cup of tea when I’m deeply engrossed in a book…that sort of thing 😉 Also, is it just me or does just the one extra person mean so much extra work and planning?!
Oh I know I’m cribbing…who cares! It’s Monday and I’m entitled…especially because I’ve just received a phone call from my maid’s Mom saying she isn’t well and won’t be coming to work today…so as soon as I get breakfast for said, now unsurprisingly, even more irritating Hubby, (this is a very Asian thing me thinks; this getting all het up with the Hubby when the maid disappears!), it’s off to do a sink full of dirty dishes and other ‘housework’, when I’d rather be writing! See what I mean! Well, at least she called which is more than some others do!
But there is one thing I did this morning that might just be my ‘Happy Fix’ for the day…took a picture of the beautiful, luminous moon at 6 am as soon as I got up 🙂 Just writing about it brightens my mood! So I guess it’s true about the Deadly Donkey then…
Well now! Isn’t that a deep rhyme to be living by! Sounds a lot like my Granny actually 😛 Thank you Mr. Monkton for your deep insights!
So today…I choose the Moon in all her wonderful lunacy!

Isn’t funny/sad how we take out unrelated things on those who would last choose to hurt us? I try very hard to pull back from saying or doing anything negative, but sometimes those negative thoughts flow right where they don’t belong.
Glad your husband is back home. I know what you mean about having the extra person to plan for, but in the end, I’m sure you’d rather that than the alternative. In all seriousness, watch out for that donkey.

I nearly shot a photo of the moon tonight, but it was so dark and such high contrast by the time it rose I didn’t think I’d be happy with the image. Plus it was 2F where I was shooting, and I was pretty sure I had literally just left some skin on my tripod 😉 (I didn’t, thankfully!)
I haven’t read any Perry Mason novels, but I know just what you’re talking about. Perhaps I should add it to the list. Speaking of which, what book would you put at the top? I need a book to read and haven’t selected one from a growing list. Nor have I gone to the library.
Tony and I are very fortunate to both work from home. When I was a science teacher, I worked at least 12 hours a day in my classroom, and then often another 5 or 6 at home. I imagine Tony was rather lonely then, and I was sorely overworked. Grateful for his patience and support – both during that time and our transition to where we are now!

Ive just finished Americanah by Chimamanda Adiche and I’m utterly in love with her writing style and the story she tells. It’s at it’s very basic an immigrant experience if you like that sort of thing. Highly recommend! And I just discovered that Julian Barnes another favourite wrote crime under the pseudonym Dan Kavanagh!! Am heading over to Kindle to explore now! By the way have you read the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley? She’s funny and irreverent and 11 years old 😉
Oh…my last reply was so long…and still have more to say 😉 I think you and Tony are made for the Life you are living now…just the sense I get from knowing you these past few months.
Teaching is a wonderful profession but seriously overworked and underpaid not only in the US but all over the world. And not to sound like a broken record or anything…but I’m thinking your photography will bring you serious rewards 😀 It’s just a matter of time!
