Monkton Mondays!

It’s Monday again!! They do seem to come around with amazing regularity don’t they? πŸ˜‰ I wonder how it would be if I fell asleep one Sunday and got up to find out it’s Tuesday morning!! Disorienting I know, but a refreshing change too? πŸ˜› But I would feel bad about missing out on my daily dose of Monkton πŸ™‚

And since Valentine’s just a couple of day’s away, I thought this one from Monkton especially fitting to the occasion πŸ™‚ I’m not big on Valentine’s Day, but I am HUGE on LOVE, and as usual he manages to say exactly what I feel in a wonderfully humorous way! This one is dedicated to G…although our particular ‘Still and Settled Place’, will be regularly punctuated with painful yells from yours truly when he steps on my toes as we dance. πŸ˜› He loves doing that πŸ˜‰ Go Figure!Β

Monkton Mondays!

Mondays are so much happier since I’ve decided to dedicate them to Mr. Monkton. No matter how bleak the day or weekend has been, looking through his work for something to post never fails to put me in a good mood and bring a smile to my face πŸ™‚

So here’s my Thought for the Day!

It is indeed!! And the myriad of chips it turns into for our pleasure – those are BEAUTIFUL too πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜› πŸ˜€

Have a Beautiful Week ahead People!

The Interesting Thoughts of Edward Monkton

This is one of my absolute favorite sites. Edward Monkton is a great ‘humorist’ (I’m hoping that’s the right term?), although I dislike labels. It’s just a fancy way of saying, he’s a very cool guy who has very interesting thoughts that he shares with the rest of us. I love how he manages to fit a kernel of wisdom into a couple of lines of simple prose. And his sketches areΒ marvelousΒ πŸ™‚ Every time I feel low, I can trust Mr. Monkton to ‘perk up my mood’! I am including a few of my favorites here, although it’s a tough choice! They are the property of Mr. Edward Monkton although I wish, (Oh how I wish!), I could say they were mine πŸ™‚

Humor has always been important in my life. It’s helped me get through rough times and depression and sometimes even through anger. This last, especially when I get impatient and irritable with Ishaan. He’ll just say something completely irrelevant to the situation at hand or make a funny face and I feel the beginnings of a smile πŸ™‚ Like at just this very exact moment, he’s brandishing a sharpened pencil and is likely to take out his eye!! So I go grab the pencil, while screaming No! (like that will have ANY effect!)…and what does he do…flings the pencil with all the skill of a fast bowler in my direction (no doubt with every intention of taking out my eye!!), and proceeds to yank at the curtain instead in what I can only assume is an attempt to drag it down to the floor, rod and all, in order to…what? Beats me? Maybe it’s a test of strength, a man thing, you know? Maybe he thinks I’ll stitch him some cool shorts and shirts, a la Maria! Maybe…never mind! Hubby’s come to the rescue and father and son are happily ensconced in front of his PC looking at random stuff on Facebook and eating…yes at the same time! Oh wait…that was 2 seconds ago (that’s hubby’s attention span, when it comes to his darling son :P), now he’s dragged his box of blocks over to my desk, climbed on it and tried to grab my phone, failing which he’s gone back to hitting his head with his little plastic bat (Ishaan I mean ;-))!!!

You tell me…where would I be without a little humor huh?? πŸ˜‰

If you like what you see, be sure to check out more cool thoughts here!

Enjoy!

This might just be my favorite…

This one always makes me smile πŸ™‚

And this one…well, I’ll let you decide!
